ControlPoint has developed several tools for improving the integrity of polyethylene pipe networks:

• RedBox and Cyclops
  Telemetry, GPS and camera module retro-fitted to electrofusion boxes and butt fusion machines. The Cyclops camera photographs the joint before fusion takes place to show correct scraping, clamping and alignment. The RedBox communications module automatically sends the jointing parameters and photographs to the JointManager website for viewing.
• JointManager
  Web-based portal for all your butt fusion and electrofusion joint data. Makes information available 24/7, enables you to share data with clients if required, and facilitates analysis and comparison of the jointing performance and productivity of different teams.
• Joint Inspection System
  ControlPoint’s team of PE technical experts can analyse the photographic joint data that comes in from RedBox units in the field. Within one hour of the joint being created, ControlPoint can generate e-mails or SMS text messages advising clients of non-conforming installations. Result – potentially faulty joints are identified and cut out before they are buried.
• Training
  Teaming up with a third-party independent trainer, ControlPoint has developed a comprehensive programme that focuses on asset integrity, including the operation of RedBox and Cyclops technology.  This training includes a combination of theory (background to polyethylene and good joint installation review) and practical, and has been proven to influence performance on-and off-site, with operators and managers alike demonstrating a sustained improvement.
